Terms of Service

bito.li is a link shortener with QR codes and click statistics. It is the successor of lnk.ink: both domains run on the same system, so links and accounts work on either one, and a link created on lnk.ink also opens at bito.li.

You can shorten links as a guest or with a free account. An account lets you manage your links from the dashboard, edit and delete them, and view their statistics.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to create an account. Provide a real email address you have access to, since we use it for verification, password resets and important notices.

You are responsible for keeping your password and your links’ secret codes safe, and for everything done with your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

You may only use bito.li for lawful purposes. You must not create, share or redirect to links that involve:

• Phishing or any attempt to collect passwords, payment details or other credentials under false pretences
• Malware, unwanted software, or downloads disguised as something else
• Scams and fraud, including fake shops, investment or crypto schemes and impersonation of real people or organisations
• Spam: unsolicited bulk messages, comment spam, or links used to evade spam filters of other platforms
• Content that is illegal where you or your audience are, including child sexual abuse material, which we report to the authorities
• Harassment, threats, doxxing or content that promotes violence
• Infringement of copyright, trademarks or other rights of others

You also must not overload or disrupt the service, bypass rate limits or account limits, create links in bulk through automation we have not allowed, or try to access data that is not yours.

You keep all rights to the links and titles you add. You give us permission to store them, redirect visitors to them, show their title and statistics to you, and generate QR codes for them, as needed to run the service.

bito.li does not create or control the pages links point to and does not endorse them. A short link is not a sign that the destination is safe.

We check links automatically against blocklists and Google Safe Browsing, and we review reports from users. When a link breaks these terms we may, without notice, show a warning page instead of redirecting, disable or delete the link, and suspend or close the accounts involved. Serious or repeated abuse leads to a permanent ban.

If you believe one of your links was blocked by mistake, write to [email protected] with the short link and we will review it.

To keep bito.li fast and free we apply rate limits and a maximum number of links per account. Links you create with an expiry date or click limit stop working when they expire. Guest links and links without activity may be removed after a long period if they were not created as permanent links.

Some redirects may pass through a short intermediate page, which may show advertising that helps keep the service free.

We work to keep bito.li available and reliable, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that links and statistics will never be lost. Keep your own copy of anything important.

To the extent permitted by law, bito.li and its operators are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits, lost data, or for the content of pages that links point to. Because the service is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, if any.

You can stop using bito.li at any time and delete your links from the dashboard. To delete your account, email [email protected] from the address on your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, as described above.

We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version, and we will point out important changes on the site. Continuing to use bito.li after a change means you accept the new terms.
